Some things never change. I texted youngest a picture while riding in the car to a family event last week. It showed needles, thread, scissors, and quilt carefully perched on my lap as I bound it. As you might guess, it was a present for the event we were headed towards. I was quite proud to finish two hours before the ride ended. You’d think I would have learned to be pretty careful with feeling proud. It usually proceeds feeling pretty foolish by just a bit… I showed up the next day wearing different shoes than I had planned. I shared with youngest that my pants were too long for the preferred footwear. She, in the most deadpan voice, commented that it was too bad I didn’t know how to, or have the supplies to, shorten the pants. Yup, black pants that could have been hemmed with the same supplies used for the quilt!
Wishing you a week where you recognize the obvious,
Mary Beth
