This Saturday (9-5-26) those in our beginning of the month pieced Saturday Sampler program will meet at 9:00am. There will be lots to see and hear about, and the next block in the series will make its debut. This time we will focus on triangles, in both a small and larger size. We will look at the steps you can take to help stitch bias edges to bias edges, without distorting your work. Be sure to bring your block from last month - they are so much fun to see!

Featherweight Club

Saturday ~ September 5th ~ 10:30am-12:30pm

Our next Featherweight Club meeting is this Saturday! We will share more Featherweight lore, additional practical machine sewing tips, and a new little project. Meetings are a great way to get to know your incredible vintage machine and get it into use!

2026 Sew a Jelly Roll Day!

Saturday ~ September 19th

Versatile Jelly Rolls, the famous Moda 2 1/2” wide cuts, will be the star of this Saturday celebration. We will premiere a new Jelly Roll sample (Mosaic Floor) and show another (Crooked Roads) in progress. You’ll be happy we’ve made the quilts - we’ve caught the construction issues! Select one of the patterns as our gift, and then head home to whip up something yummy with your Jelly Roll collection!

We’ve done a bit of rearranging in the shop. The Christmas fabrics are now all in one spot, but not to worry, the spots where they were are packed with new fabrics!!! I’m enamored with Color Camp, new from Allison Glass. The group is described as the ultimate paint box for quilters, and I can see why! The collection is organized into four color groups, the first of which, Sun, arrived this week. The twenty-one tone on tone prints are offered in a range of pale to darker shades of red, orange, and yellow. These are going to be perfect for your fall projects.Why not begin your collection with Sun, and then watch for the arrival of the Bloom, Dusk, and Grove groups - at that point you will have a full color wheel!

I’ve begun a cute fall project, Sweet October from Creek Side Stitches. It would be perfect with Allison's Sun, but I’ve already cut into those for something else… Thus, for Sweet October I’ve selected a black spiderweb print, a white on white that reminds me of pumpkin seeds, and assorted orange prints. The cutting and piecing directions are clearly written and illustrated, as in all the other Creek Side patterns. I should have it done in no time! Consider adding this one to your fall decor! Pattern $6.50

Crazy Quilt As You Go

Saturday ~ October 10th and 24th ~ 12:00pm-4:00pm

In the Crazy Quilt As You Go class you will learn a technique that can be used to make quilts (both large and small), or to make beautiful placemats, table runners,... First learn to cut and piece the unique design, and then your machine's decorative stitches will do the quilting in small, manageable steps. Once you learn the technique you will be able to apply it to a multitude of gift items that can be completed in a short period of time.

New York Beauty

Saturday ~ October 17th ~ 2:00pm-5:00pm

Historically the traditional New York Beauty block would have been a design attempted only by the most experienced quilter, but no more! With the help of modern cutting and piecing techniques, the intricate looking design can now be worked by anyone with a bit of machine sewing experience. In class we will work on several blocks from the Radiant Blocks book. You may choose to make any quilt in the book (other than the tiny mini ones!) as each uses the same 6” finished New York Beauty blocks. We will cover fabric prep and cutting, and then move on to foundation piecing, and curved piecing techniques - both those techniques used by the author and those used by the instructor! You are going to be amazed by what you create!
