A couple weeks back I shared my youngests’ crockpot efforts. I mentioned we have five crockpots. Not because I cook that much at one time anymore - they were needed when we used to cook for a yearly event she played a big part in at school. Now I pretty much select my favorite one, always the same one, before setting to work chopping whatever is going into the pot. Lots of veggies went into Sunday’s soup. The soup is pretty tasty, although I’m not sure I’ll be able to duplicate the flavor… We’ve tucked the crockpot back in the fridge each day as we’ve ladled out soup during the week. Tonight we got to the bottom of the pot. You know the stretchy thing that holds the lid in place when you need to take your crockpot creation to an event? We have lots of them… I need to be sure they are all accounted for before tossing veggies in the pot next time. Why would they make a black one for a black crockpot?! Pretty sure it’s ok to cook it - we haven’t gotten sick… Another reason why I should stick to sewing!

Hope you have a wonderful week filled with tasty treats.

Happy Holidays,

Mary Beth

And now it’s on to ~

QC 2026 Applique Saturday Sampler!

Our 2026 applique sampler, Window Garden, featuring thirteen 8” x 14” blocks, sashing, and borders, will be worked over the course of twelve months. In each block the quilts brightly colored, imaginary flowers will sprout from a flower pot or vase. To participate you pay the registration fee now and attend the first meeting (we will share instructions and the first kit during the session) on Saturday, January 17th at 9:00am. If you return to the next meeting in February, with your block completed for show and tell, your next kit will be our gift! If you can not make a meeting, or do not have a chance to make the block, your next kit will be just $5.00 plus tax. The program is filling very quickly - please register soon.

Please note - Because the holidays fill everyone's schedule for the next several weeks, we are sharing the pieced Saturday Sampler info today.

Those that meet at the end of the month for our current pieced Saturday Sampler sessions will attend at 9:00am on Saturday, December 27th. During the session we will share the last block kit in the series, and lots of information about the new program for 2026. You may want to stop in the shop before your session to get 2026 details because, sorry to say again, program spots are filling quickly.

We have information in the shop about nine different block-of-the-month programs that will start in the coming months. Stop in to get a look at what is coming and to learn details about the different programs. There are projects being offered that are very historic in nature, and those that are far more contemporary. I will try to include a little about some of the quilts in future newsletters - watch for details.

If Santa is still looking for the perfect gift for you, we have ideas! From interesting notions, to fabric, classes, and gift certificates, there are so many options. One thing Santa needs to keep in mind - we are closed both December 24th and 25th.

snowday image

Our 2026 Snow Day Surprise kits premiered last week. The colorful kits include fabrics for the top and binding of a 60” x 60” pieced quilt. You receive the pattern for the project, the surprise, via email on the first day in the new year that 6” of snow, or more, falls on Quilters Corner (in Finleyville, PA). If we are lucky enough to avoid a major storm, you will receive the pattern on February 14th. There are three different colorways offered, and the option to purchase an additional border kit that will grow your quilt to 84” x 84”. This has proven to be a fun way to approach the snowy days ahead - consider snagging one before they sell out. Kit $44.95 (once the pattern is released the 60” x 60” quilt kit is offered at its normal $97.95 price), optional additional border kit $48.75
