Oh my gosh, on to the second block in our 2024 pieced Saturday Sampler project already! This Saturday (2-24-24) those in our end of the month group will meet at 9:00am. We will share shop news, and show and tell, then we will pass out kits for the new block, teach a bit more technique and answer questions. Keep in mind, if you bring your completed block from last month, the new kit is our gift to you! 

Also on Saturday, our Stash Management Club will meet at 10:30am. I can’t wait to see what you have made over the last month with fabrics from your collection - you are a most creative group! We will talk about organizing a portion of your sewing space (are you making progress?) and share a pattern that will help you put your fabrics to use - there is sure to be something to inspire your next project!

You “might” find a few more reminders about the By Annie Local Quilt Shop Contest on our social media, but this is the last chance I will have to mention it here before the contest ends. The contest was created by Annie, known for their incredible bag patterns, as a way to highlight the efforts of local quilt shops, and to give sewists an opportunity to share stories and comments about their favorite. Opening boxes as they come into the shop is great fun, especially when the fabrics inside are bursting with vibrant color! New Worlds, designed by Rob Appell, is just such a line! He has managed to offer a full rainbow with just nine pieces. The graphic tone on tone designs (circles, triangles, and a tile like print) on the red to violet pieces will add an exuberant  bit of visual texture to your next project. I think you are going to love them!

Intro to Rotary cutting class information ~ 

Saturday ~ March 2nd ~ 1:00pm-2:30pm



I want to remind those registered for the rotary cutting class to bring your rotary cutter (hopefully with a sharp blade), cutting mat, and a rotary cutting ruler that is at least 6” wide to class. Fabric for practice will be provided that day. There is one open spot remaining for the class - give us a call (724-348-8010) if you are interested in snagging it. 

Fee $16.00

Our February 29th Sew In is booked solid (we are adding names to a waiting list - you never know…). I knew I couldn’t be the only one wishing there were more days to spend sewing! If you are registered, please bring a project to work on, your sewing supplies including machine if needed, and lunch. We will start at 10:30am that day (we will stitch until 3:30pm). Snacks and other goodies will be waiting for you!
