Dear Friends,

A while back I mentioned the loud rattling sound I heard when riding in my sweetie’s car. His first response was I must not have had the music up loud enough… Next he said it was probably his golf clubs in the trunk. Eventually he searched high and low for the source of the sound, as did the mechanic he took it to. He then replaced wheel bearings, shocks and struts, sway bar links, wheel well liner,... (as you might guess, I don’t even know what all those things are!). I dealt with the whole thing by only riding in the car as far as I could walk home! Earlier in the week he took it to be inspected. When he returned for the car, the mechanic was excited - he found the source of the rattle. He had leaned on the trunk lid when bending down, and it moved… So, two minutes to tighten two screws, and no more rattle.

May whatever is annoying you this week ultimately be easy to fix,

Mary Beth

I’m amazed that we have already made it to the second applique Saturday Sampler session of the year. This Saturday (2-17-24) we will review the techniques presented in the first session, and move on to more applique instruction. We will also share the next big, bright bloom in the series. If you bring your completed first block in the “Wild Flowers” series to show, your next kit will be our gift during the session! If you can’t make it to the session, or didn’t have a chance to complete the block, no worries - we will have a kit here for you to purchase.

Two clubs begin their year-long run next week. You might enjoy being part of these groups - give us a call so we can add your name to the list if you would like to participate!

QC Christmas Club ~ Wednesday, February 21st ~ 10:30am

The thought that led to this group was, if we begin a “little” earlier, we might finish our Christmas gifts before the very last minute… Thus, we spend each meeting focusing on projects that would make great gifts (I wish I could say this helps me be ready for the holidays, but I’m known for gifting the creations for other occasions throughout the year!). Each meeting we share patterns, demos, and a little gift with members. I can’t wait to share “The Angler”, an adorable little bag that is easy to make (a perfect gift), and a runner that will be made with this pile of strips. Be sure to remember to bring show and tell - we love seeing what you make! Fee $5.00 per session

2024 Simple Whatnots Club ~ Thursday, February 22nd ~ 10:30am

We will begin the 13th Simple Whatnots series with Kim Diehl’s “Talk of the Town” pattern. The charming 15 1/2” x 25 1/2” design features thirteen pieced blocks that finish 5” x 5”. The small size of the blocks would seem like a challenge, but they truly are fun to make (and of course, we share tips for creating the pieces in the most efficient, fun way possible!). The beautiful new prints from Kim’s Quiet Grace collection will be used throughout the year - making every little quilt an elegant, historic style wonder! Fee $6.00 per session
