Those in our end of the month pieced Saturday Sampler group will meet this Saturday (11-25-23) at 9:00am. We will work a bit more on the setting directions for your quilt, sharing both the new kit and additional setting paperwork. It is truly amazing how different your blocks are from one person to the next - can you imagine how fun it will be to see each other's finished quilts?! 

Saturday also features the next Stash Management Club session. More ideas and patterns for organizing and using your fabric collection will be the highlight of the meeting. Well, maybe show and tell will be more of a highlight - can’t wait to see what you bring to show!!!

Fall Quilt Market in Houston was an incredible, overwhelmingly spectacular showcase of all things new in the quilt world. It takes us several weeks to pull things together, for items to arrive and samples to be stitched. By the first Saturday in December we will be ready to share the goodies with you! Consider joining us for the lecture featuring photos and stories from the show (pre-registration for the lecture is now open - please register soon as space is limited), and then check every corner of the shop for new books, patterns, fabrics and samples! There will be lots to see, and prizes to be won - sure to be inspiring and fun!

I rarely mention fabric collections that are tone-on-tone, but the newest deserves a mention! Timeless Linen, new from Stacy West, is exactly as the name implies. It is a timeless group, in a range of rich, subtle colors, that reads like linen. As we carry them around the shop, we realize they coordinate with just about everything!!! You might just find the color you have been searching for among the twenty different shades.

You might not be surprised to hear (especially if you remember her charitable sewing efforts that began as soon as she could hold a needle) that my youngest is now living in Chicago and she has recently started working with an organization that aims to reduce homelessness. She thought that some of you may be looking for more ways to spread some holiday cheer and might be interested in the organization’s Holiday Gift Drive. The organization has wish lists from over 200 children this year and each wish list contains a child’s gift requests plus details on their favorite color, sports, hobbies, etc. to give you inspiration. You can even sponsor more than one wish list! Gifts can be purchased in person or online, and shipped to their location in Chicago (I recommend buying gifts online so you can ship directly!)
