Dear Friends,

You never know when the things you’ve learned while quilting might come into play. My youngest was in a class when her professor admitted to the group that he could use an opinion about his outfit, as he is colorblind. They complimented his outfit, told him it was well coordinated, and class began. Weeks later he asked if his socks matched his outfit. Everyone smiled and nodded, except for one student (you know her) who rather directly and abruptly responded, “No!”. He then said, “The package said they were multicolored, so they should go with everything!”. The socks were red, yellow and blue - he was wearing purple. From that point forward he just asked her - not only was she honest, but she seemed to know a good deal about color… Just goes to show, if you spend enough time at Quilters Corner you’re bound to get a pretty good handle on coordinating colors!

Wishing you a week filled with beautiful hues,

Mary Beth

This Saturday (9-23-23) those in our end of the month pieced Saturday Sampler program will meet at 9:00am. There will be new things to see, a new block kit, and a bit of construction information shared. Your sampler blocks have been looking great - I’m excited to see the ones you show this month!

New Stash Management Club series!

A whole new Stash Management series begins on Saturday (9-23-23) at 10:30am. You may be wondering what this club is all about - a little explanation is in order. The basic premise is that our fabric collections are valuable, and require a “bit” of effort to organize and maintain. I think we all realize the more organized we can make our sewing supplies, the more time we will have to actually stitch. So, at each meeting we share organizing ideas, a pattern for putting our fabric to use, and lots of show and tell. As you can tell, the sessions are packed with ideas, and almost as important, often with lots of laughs. Maybe best of all, it costs $10.00 to join - that fee covers all 10 sessions for the coming year!

We would love to have you join us. Give the shop a call so we can add your name to the membership list (and so we’ll have a pattern for you on Saturday!).

A little more Stitch Pink info ~

Last week I shared some details about Moda’s 2023 Stitch Pink Sew Along. For the past several years Moda has presented a program in October to support breast cancer awareness, research, and services. This year the marvelous Sew Along pattern, Adore, has been designed by Camille Roskelley. The 84” x 84” medallion style quilt is being constructed in Camille’s new fabric line, Lighthearted (a portion of the purchase price of this group is being donated by Moda to further the cause of breast cancer research and outreach). Earlier this week Camille shared a quick look at her plans for the Sew Along on her Facebook page. We are going to be constructing the piece and have also worked out a plan, just slightly different. We would love to have you join in making your own version of Adore. We have patterns and fabric kits available for the quilt (although they are very limited in supply!), as well as an introductory letter to the project and stitching schedule. We plan to share progress on our Facebook and Instagram - I honestly can’t wait to begin stitching!!!

Pattern $10.00, Fabric kit $135.00
