This Saturday (8-19-23) those in our 2023 applique Saturday Sampler program will meet at 9:00am. You will share your block from last month and show and tell, we will share the next block pattern and fabrics, tips for creating the piece, and shop news. I hope you are delighted with how your vibrant fabric garden is “growing”!

QC Pillowcase Race



Oh my goodness, there are pillowcases everywhere here - the mountain of bags and boxes you see when entering aren’t our new display technique, they are packed with pillowcases! The race is going great - really that means you guys are the best! The race ends Saturday, at which point we’ll total the number of pillowcases in the mountain, select some prize winners, and then get them on their way to Children’s Hospital here in Pittsburgh. Your stitches are going to bring so many smiles!

I Love Fabric Days! 

When you visit today and tomorrow (8-18-23 and 8-19-23) you can celebrate I Love Fabric Days with us! We’re fairly certain you must love fabric at least as much as we do, so… We have three ways for you to celebrate (and of course, each comes with a little goodie or chance to win a prize!). 

First - Do you ever think, “I love this fabric, but I can’t find anything to go with it?” Bring the piece with you this Friday or Saturday and we will help you find a coordinate, and better still we will gift you a fat quarter of the coordinate!

Second - How about answering our short question? It’s really a fill in the blank. Maybe think about “I love fabric because _____________”  before you arrive. Fill out the little form at our counter for a chance to win three yards of fabric, your choice! We’ll pick our favorite answer (declare that guest the winner), hand over the free fabric, and share the answer with everyone. 

Third - Pick your favorite fabric in the shop (I know this is a tough one!). We’ll mark your favorite (and everyone else’s) and then pull a name from all those who shared their choice. That guest will win three yards of a favorite piece!

You might want to pick your favorite fabric from the new True Blue collection from Art Gallery. Each of the sixteen pieces in the group is wonderful. You will find tiny allover prints (I love the one they call Handstitched), and medium and larger designs featuring exquisite blooms in the mix. I love all the projects Art Gallery shares in the indigo, cobalt, denim and sky blue prints - you need to take a peek at their True Blue Look Book online! I can't decide whether to start a pillow, runner, quilt or garment first!
