Dear Friends,

I may have mentioned that the very youngest member of our family is adorable, creative, inquisitive and very resourceful (yes, I could be a “tad” biased). As I was talking to my son he watched him go to a kitchen drawer, pull a spoon and head for an unattended bowl of frosting. Nope, I’m not sure why there would be an unattended bowl of frosting! When it was explained that eating frosting from the bowl was unacceptable behavior, he set the spoon down. He next climbed off the chair and reached for something on the floor. I hung up laughing as my son exclaimed, “Don’t eat that, don’t eat that!”.

Wishing you a week of resourceful solutions!

On Saturday morning (6-24-23) those in our end of the month pieced Saturday Sampler session will meet at 9:00am. We’ll share the next block in the series, and explain all the finer details of its construction. Be sure to bring your completed block from last month - I love seeing them!

We will also host our Stash Management club members on Saturday at 10:30am. We’ll share some organization tips, a new pattern that will help you cut into your fabric collection, and I will tell you a little about the sewing, needlework and craft trade show I’m currently attending! Don’t forget your show and tell - your pieces are always so inspiring!

We’ve loved seeing everyone this week. If you haven’t joined already, you still have a little time left to participate in the Western PA Shop Hop, as it ends on Saturday (6-24-23). If you snag a passport, you can see our version of this year’s progressive quilt (you get a pattern for a portion of the great design at each of the eight stops), enter to win prizes, and have the fun of working the hop themed crossword puzzle. I hope you had fun if you’ve completed your hop (and thank you for joining the event!). If you’re traveling Friday and Saturday - safe journey, enjoy the ride!

(Progressive quilt shown above.)

I love when new Kaffe Fassett prints arrive. Maybe just as important, I love when we can offer you all the colors of a Kaffe “blender” at one time. If you work with his prints (and why wouldn’t you - they’re incredible!) you know these are the multi color, all over prints that are a bit smaller in scale. His entire Roman Glass collection arrived a few days back. Well at that point we thought it was the entire collection, but a few more bolts have trickled in… Each has a solid color background covered with circles and dots of vibrant color. They look much like vintage paperweights which must have inspired the design. They would be great on their own in a rainbow inspired quilt, but also are the perfect compliment to larger scale prints. I find them indispensable!

Fabric $13.70 per yard
