The poppies in our front garden seem to have disappeared, so I went from house to house in our neighborhood to take pictures that I could use when drawing this month’s applique sampler block - do you think the neighbors wonder about me? I was able to get a couple of really good shots - the resulting design is colorful and bold. I look forward to sharing the kit with you during the 9:00am session this Saturday (6-17-23). Be sure to bring your completed block from last month so you receive the kit as our gift!

I want to quickly mention the upcoming dates for two of our shop clubs, as well. QC Christmas Club will meet on Wednesday, June 21st at 10:30am and our Simple Whatnots Club will meet on Thursday, June 29th at 10:30am. These dates may not match those published in our date book - please check to be sure you have the correct dates noted.

Good gracious it’s almost here! We are working like crazy to get ready for your hop visit! We are putting the finishing touches on our version of the hop quilt, packing door prize baskets with fantastic goodies (wait until you see the basket that is one of the event grand prizes!), getting our handouts and treats (including a free fat quarter for each hopper!) ready, and setting displays of new things in place. Be sure you have your passport and travel plan ready to go - we can’t wait to welcome you!

We pulled Soft Fuse from a box earlier today. This fusible “web” is incredible. It has become the favorite fusible of some of your quilting friends - several of whom work in the shop. We will begin offering the 37” wide product, cut to the yardage you desire, in the coming days. We are just waiting for the instruction sheet at this point! Be sure to take a look at the fused fabric sample we have - so soft you won’t even know the fusible is there!!!! We think you are going to love this product! Fusible - 37” wide - $13.00 per yard

Seven new lines of fabric arrived in the past week. It’s hard to pick which to share - a visit to the shop is definitely called for! You’ll want to check out groups from Kaffe and Brandon, Libs Elliott, P&B and several others.

That being said, I couldn’t resist telling you just a tiny bit about  Spring Equinox, new form Art Gallery. Katie O’Shea, the line’s designer, is new to Art Gallery. She shares that her artwork is inspired by works from the Arts and Crafts movement, and by nature. The influences are clear when viewing the exquisite prints! From soft dark blues, to brighter greens and pinks, the flowers, sprigs, tiny creatures, and tone on tone prints are unique, and irresistible. Debbie has already selected three of the prints to make Maple Island’s BQ 2. It is sure to be a soft, elegant version of this favorite pattern. You might want to look for the Art Gallery Spring Equinox Look Book online - it includes lots of examples of the prints in use. I fear these will be gone if you don’t stop in to take a look soon!
