Dear Friends,

My sweetie was very pleased with himself earlier in the week. He finally figured out how to listen to golf on his earbuds while doing yard work (doesn’t sound all that thrilling to me…). Maybe it’s something like mow the grass and pretend you’re on a green? When finished, he headed into the garage to put things away. As he closed the garage door he heard a bird in the garage. He searched high and low looking for the trapped creature, before remembering they’ve added bird sounds to golf broadcasts… As it turns out, those canned bird sounds are pretty darn convincing!

Wishing you a week filled with joyous sounds,

Mary Beth

April continues to be a bit of a scheduling nightmare… Those registered in our end of the month pieced Saturday Sampler group will meet this Saturday (4-22-23), the fourth Saturday in April, at 9:00am. I can’t wait to see your blocks from last month’s kit, and I am really looking forward to sharing the next block.

Our Stash Management club also meets this Saturday. At 10:30am we will share lots of show and tell, tips for getting your sewing space in order, and a pattern that will put your fabric in use.

The display for the next steps in our Christmas Cheer sampler project will be in place for you on Saturday, April 29th. The bold blocks have been great fun so far - can’t wait to begin the next ones!

Earth Day is this Saturday (4-22-23). When you stop in, be sure to snag a free copy of the tote bag pattern we will be featuring. We’ve made it up in several fun fabric combinations. Why not choose fabrics you like (I bet you even have a “few” choices already at home), and get right to stitching? The tote makes a great alternative to plastic shopping bags! I just realized we also have another great, environmentally friendly alternative at the moment. Several huge boxes of handmade baskets arrived last week. They have been soaked, shaped and dried (all while thinking about the women in Africa that craft them to support their families), and are now ready to go home with you. I love carrying them when I make quick trips to the grocery store!

QC Anniversary Celebration

May 5th and 6th

Oh my gosh, another year flew by! Can you believe we begin our 35th year in just a few weeks?! This calls for a celebration! There will be quilts to see, goodies to win, treats to eat, and even a little gift for you. While we say it’s a celebration of the shop, it’s really a celebration of all of you, just a small thank you to all the friends we have made over the years!

The new spring fabric collections are wonderful, to say the least. One of my favorites is right at the front of the shop. Zen, new from Clothworks, features beautiful, ethereal prints in mint, aqua, and teal accented with blue, plum and peach. The eight peaceful images on the panel each finish 9” square - I’ll bet they will be the centerpieces of some truly glorious projects!

Fabric $13.10 per yard, Panel $8.80

I rounded the corner in the shop and found boxes containing the newest Tula group! They are just getting pulled from the boxes - you must take a look at Everglow and Neon True Colors when you visit!

Please note ~ current shop hours are 10:00am-4:00pm Monday thru Saturday.
