On Saturday morning (2-18-23) we will meet at 9:00am for the second session of our 2023 applique Saturday Sampler program. I can’t wait to see your first blooms! During the session we will review additional applique technique info, we will share the packet for the next flower block, and enjoy a bit of show and tell. Hope you can make it.

QC 2022 Block of the Month Show and Tell!

Saturday ~ March 4th ~ 1:00pm



How are your block of the month projects from last year coming along? Almost finished? We would love to see what you have created! Join us on March 4th to share your finished QC block-by-block quilts with everyone (you could bring your version of our Saturday Samplers, or our summer sampler, or Holiday Block Box, or your Kim Diehl sampler, or…). Keep in mind, when it comes to show and tell quilt tops count as “finished”! Please pre-register for show and tell so we can have a little thank you gift ready for you.

QC Simple Whatnots Club 2023!



The first session of our 2023 Simple Whatnots Club meets next Thursday (2-23-23) at 10:30am. The designs for this group are the work of Kim Diehl. Each is a petite, scrappy style treasure!   First up in the series will be “A Tisket”. During the meeting we will share tips, and alternate methods for working the pieced baskets and blocks, and enjoy member show and tell. I’m cutting into Kim’s new “Scraps of Kindness” collection for the class sample - I think you are going to love the new prints, I certainly do!

Among Brenda’s Quilts and Bags Trunk Show!

March 1st - 11th

Did you add a visit to the shop to see the trunk show to your date book? The twenty bags that make up the show are wonderful - perfectly executed, and fantastic showcases for striking fabrics. Be sure to enter the drawing to win a kit for one of the bags when you visit during the show.

Freezer Paper Piecing

Saturday ~ March 18th ~ 12:00pm - 3:00pm

Have you tried traditional foundation piecing? Did you like it? Would you like to learn a new technique with no paper to rip out, and no backwards piecing? If that sounds good, join this freezer paper piecing class to learn the ins and outs of the method (while constructing a beautiful, unique, intricate block). The technique will be a game changer for you!

Featherweight and 301 TLC 

Thursday ~ March 16th ~ 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Your vintage treasure deserves the very best care. The good news is that with a bit of instruction you can provide much of the tender loving care yourself. A bit of Featherweight history will begin the session and then we will move on to hands-on instruction in machine maintenance. Did you know there are over 30 places on the machine you are supposed to oil at least every few weeks?! You will also learn which care issues are best left to professionals. Please bring your machine, manual if you have one, your machines’ tiny screwdriver, sewing machine oil and lubricant, and a bath towel on which to work when you come to class.
