Dear Friends,
I’m known for telling everyone to read the directions before beginning a project. After a minor disaster, water leaking in the ceiling of our game room, my sweetie has worked around the clock to make repairs. First up was removing the industrial bookshelves containing a lifetime of “good” books. Next he began removing a little damp drywall, and then a little more, and a little more,... Once the walls were repaired, the ceiling didn’t look as good, and neither did the floor. After some discussion, we agreed on new vinyl plank for the floor. As usual, sweetie started the installation by reading the directions and watching some videos. It looked pretty easy in the videos… Just place the side with the “tongue” against the wall, and then slide and lock the pieces in place. After a very frustrating day, he had three rows down and the seams were definitely “off”. On day two he returned to the directions. The new family rule is to read the directions very carefully, and pay very close attention to the illustrations. As it turns out, not “that” tongue against the wall, the one on the other side of the plank! The floor was finished before I got home - now, on to the hallway which doesn’t look as good by comparison…
Wishing you a week of exceedingly clear project directions,
Mary Beth
