Dear Friends,
My youngest and her roommate decided it was finally time to decorate their apartment a bit. They were tired of the plain white walls. While home earlier in the week, they both started looking online for artwork - two different computers, two different rooms. Youngests’ roommate was first to spot something she liked. She called from the other room that it was large, floral, pretty, and rather sweet. To which my darling exclaimed, “No, no, no and no!” without even taking a look. The next description was that it looked rather French - still no! Next her roommate mentioned it appeared to be by an artist she didn’t know, William Morris. My youngest jumped up, grabbed the shirt she made from a Free Spirit Morris print and tossed it on as she headed to the back of the apartment calling, “Buy that!”. The two, who never agree on style in any setting, found common ground with a William Morris print! I think they would probably both agree with the famous Morris quote, “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.” We’ll see how long it takes for them to find another decorative item they both believe to be beautiful!
May you find beauty in surprising places this week,
Mary Beth
