Dear Friends,

Our youngest has spent the week doing massive loads of laundry before heading back to school. Mid-week my sweetie noticed the dryer was no longer actually drying the clothes. Keep in mind we’ve had the same dryer since we were first married, and we had bought it used! Needless to say, he’s had some practice taking it apart over the years… In order to change the belt (which was the issue this time), he took off the top and front of the dryer. I’d say what a pain, but this cloud had a silver lining - literally. The front contained a pile of coins! We can’t figure out how they even get in that spot, as it’s not part of the dryer drum! The haul funded half the price of the new dryer belt. Who knows, maybe you have a piggy bank in your laundry room, too…

This Saturday (9-3-22) those in our beginning of the month Saturday Sampler program will meet at 9:00am. Your next kit will be ready and there will be information shared about the directions for this one - yes, we’ll make some revisions to the designers instructions. Don’t forget your completed block from last month!

Saturday is also the last installment of our Border Creek Mystery project. I can’t wait for the big reveal - how about you?!

Quilters Corner will be closed on Monday, September 5th, Labor Day. We hope you enjoy time with family and friends during the holiday. We will see you on Tuesday, or maybe later in the week for our September 10th Demo Day… (a list of the topics to be shared on the 10th is now available in the shop).

I love using black and white prints. They make such a statement alone or combined with lots of color. I have to admit, I beat you to the new ones that arrived yesterday. Create, new from Moda, was too tempting to pass up! Alli K, visual artist and illustrator, shares her unique style in black and white line drawings, both bold and subtle. The prints, featuring leaves, lines, flowers and pebbles, are complemented by a unique panel. I have plans for the sections of the panel featuring hands holding the tools we use to make art - we’ll have to see how fast I get the piece stitched!
