Dear Friends,

I was surprised by a large (ok, huge!) deer as I pulled into my driveway last week. I got out of the car and told him to leave. I then got back in and honked the horn, but he just continued to contentedly eat our perennials. Next, I went in and yelled at him from the deck. At that point my youngest came out and asked if I realized I sounded like a crazy lady… As we were discussing my options with respect to saving the garden, the deer moved to a different (closer!) spot, laid down, and proceeded to eat everything within reach. When I told my sweetie what was happening he pointed out it wouldn’t be a good idea to get any closer to an eight point buck (out west we would have said his rack had four points…). He needn't have worried. I waited till morning to take a close look at the garden. Half is still lovely, the other side looks like it’s been mowed! At least he also pruned back the weeds…

I hope your garden still has plenty of color, and maybe even some weeds!

This Saturday (8-20-22) those in our applique sampler program will meet at 9:00am. A new design, another large triangle shaped block, and fabrics for the applique will be shared. A little instruction and show-and-tell will round out the meeting.

After our summer break, Simple Whatnots Club returns this month on Thursday the 25th. Show-and-tell and instructions for Kim’s charming little quilt, Hog-Tied (funny name, fantastic piece!) will fill the 10:30am session. We have room for you in the group if you would like to register!

Our 2022 pillowcase race is nearing the finish line! We would love to add pillowcases you make to the wonderful ones already filling the shop. So very many are given each month to youngsters at Children’s Hospital - there’s no better way to turn stitches into smiles!

We are definitely experiencing Deja Vu this week in the shop - Tula Pink's Parisville (Deja Vu) has arrived! Tula has decided to create a redesign once a year of her out of print and rare fabrics, beginning with her iconic Parisville line. Tula's fabrics always blend so well with her other collections that these reworked originals fit right in with even her newest groups! Featuring 8 fabulous bolts, these fabrics are slightly different from the original line, but just as fun (maybe even more fun if possible) - can you spot the differences?

Fabric $12.80 per yard

Please note ~ Current shop hours are 10:00am-4:00pm Monday thru Saturday. If you are unvaccinated please wear a mask when you visit.
