Greetings!

I love watching the little creatures as I walk on the trail. In other settings, I’m not quite as thrilled. Last Saturday I left the classroom door open as we started our Stash Management session. It was such a beautiful day… As Debbi stood to show her spectacular quilts, two chipmunks made a circuit of the room - in the door, around to the front and down the aisle! Boy can they move! One finished the loop and streaked right out the door, the other headed directly into the back room. At that point, the question is what to do? I voted to pretend everything was normal. Debbi showed her stunning quilts while Bobbie watched for our club guest. After a few minutes the little creature streaked right for the door - I guess he decided quilting wasn’t his thing, or maybe the squealing we did made him feel unwelcome…

Wishing you a peaceful week, with no uninvited guests,
Mary Beth
This Saturday (6-4-22) those in our “beginning of the month” pieced Saturday Sampler group will meet at 9:00am. A new block kit, block construction technique review, and show and tell will fill the hour long session. Next up will be our Border Creek Mystery group at 10:30am (on to installment 5 - can you believe how quickly the project is going?!), and then the second session in the Crazy Quilt As You Go class. We would hate for anyone to be bored!
Be sure to get your 2022 Southwestern PA Shop Hop passport soon. The ten stop adventure is just around the corner!
We all know how much I love opening shop shipments - there’s always surprises inside! I snuck the box cutter and sliced the tape on the newest American Patchwork and Quilting magazine box today. I was hooked the instant I saw the issue’s cover! Star Silhouettes, the cover quilt, and the promise of a behind the scenes article (interview and lots of photos) with Jen Kingwell are shared right there. I can’t wait to read every page in this one - so many great projects to contemplate!!!
Magazine $6.99
Consider adding the newest Tula pieces to a version of the cover quilt! Tiny Beasts (featuring little squirrels, raccoons, fox, lady bugs, bees and hedgehogs) and Tiny Stripes just arrived. Tiny Dots will be here any day!
We were so excited to get all the new fabric collections displayed today, that was until the UPS truck pulled up… I could fill pages and pages with descriptions, but I will share one group quickly, and hope you have a chance to stop in to see all the others!
Midnight in the Garden is new from Sweetfire Road. The designer describes the group as a look at the garden at sunset. The cream, gold and black prints we received include a petite, contemporary garden toile, as well as, bees, leaves, twigs, tiny flowers and larger blooms. This would be the perfect group for your next version of the Yellow Brick Road pattern!
Fabric $11.99 per yard
Be sure to take a quick look at the June page in your QC date book. There are some things coming up that you won’t want to miss.
Please note ~ Current shop hours are 10:00am-4:00pm Monday thru Saturday. If you are unvaccinated please wear a mask when you visit.
