Greetings!

Some days the interactions in my house leave me befuddled… My sweetie put on a jacket before we headed out the other day. He pulled his hand out of the jacket pocket and asked, “What is this key for?”. He didn’t stop there. The next question was, “How did it get in my pocket?”. You can probably imagine the responses that ran through my head… I think I should get points for nicely pointing out it was his coat and his pocket, thus I had no idea. If I only knew the answers to all the questions asked in my house…

Wishing you a week of only easy questions,
Mary Beth
Saturday morning (5-7-22) will begin bright and early here with the next session of our pieced sampler for those registered for the beginning of the month sessions. During the 9:00am meeting we will pass out the next block kit (free for those that have finished the block from last month, and only $5.00 if you didn’t quite finish), we will review the techniques used to make the piece, and share show and tell. That group will be followed by our Border Creek Mystery crowd at 10:30. This installment will have you cutting and stitching more elements of the unknown, but sure to be impressive, quilt!
QC Anniversary Celebration!
This week, on the 6th and 7th, we celebrate the beginning of Quilters Corner’s 34th year! You will find some of our favorite past projects tucked and draped in different areas of the shop, you will also enjoy a sweet little gift and some actual sweets. The best part may be your first look at our anniversary month door prize. The basket is packed with our favorite quilty things - be sure to enter the drawing each time you visit during May!
We were really excited to open the Meredith box today - it was filled with new Quilt Sampler magazines! I honestly love the photos, stories, and patterns shared in this issue. I think I should travel to each of the ten shops (spread from coast to coast!) to do research for you. What do you think?! Magazine $7.99
A shipment of handmade baskets has just arrived. Well, I guess I should say a portion of an order has arrived… Marvelous large, and medium size round baskets are here, other shapes should arrive fairly soon (they are still on a ship…). I think of the women who make these incredible works of art as I get them ready for you. I can’t imagine how long it takes to create each one - I wish I could personally thank each maker! Large round baskets $43.95, Medium round baskets $32.95
Pat Sloan’s newest collection, Bird Song, is described as sharing a bit of whimsy with a modern twist. That perfectly describes the folk art style birds, dots, and stripes we received in rose and green, accented with a bit of yellow/gold. I’ve seen quilts created with tiny pieces of the prints and others made with larger cuts, in both cases they are terrific!
Fabric $11.80 per yard, panel $8.25
Please note ~ As the CDC and state pandemic rules are modified, we too change our requirements. If you are fully vaccinated you may now enter Quilters Corner without a mask (if you feel comfortable doing so). If you are not fully vaccinated please continue to wear a mask when you visit. So very sorry - we do not have a public restroom. Our shop hours are currently 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Saturday.
