Greetings!

I’m excited to have an excuse to spend all my “extra” minutes sewing this week. I can easily justify the time as I need the projects for Saturday! One required a separating zipper in a size I didn’t have, the other a pillow form, which is easier to just buy sometimes. A quick trip to a chain store was in order. I’m not sure why I was surprised to find that while it isn’t spring quite yet, every road between here and there is under construction. I entered the store already a tiny bit frustrated, only to find there weren’t pillow forms in the size I needed. I grabbed a bag of polyester stuffing instead (it really doesn’t take that long to make my own…). When I got home I decided to take a quick look in my cabinet for a pillow form. Definitely don’t have one, but I did find an unopened bag of polyester stuffing… I’m sure I’ll find enough projects for two bags, right? The good news is the zipper will be perfect - back to the sewing machine I go!
Hope all your projects go smoothly this week.

See you soon,
Mary Beth
This Saturday (3-19-22) those registered for our 2022 applique Saturday Sampler group will meet at 9:00am. We will share the new pattern for the next folkart inspired block and cover the techniques used to create the new block. Don’t forget to bring your finished block from last month - I can’t wait to see them!
QC Panel Party
Saturday ~ March 19th ~ lecture 11:00am

I’m hard at work (ok, really I’m having a ton of fun!) making preparations for our Saturday party. The 11:00am lecture will focus on ways to use the incredible panels that can be found around the shop. Learn how to select fabrics to go with the panels, how to cut the unique pieces, see patterns that will show off the pieces,... We will have small gifts for you during the lecture and then you will head upstairs to select the panel of your choice (yes, even if that panel costs more than you paid for the event!). Pre-registration is required - there are only a few spots left!
Fee $15.00 (includes lecture and free panel!)
Beginning Quilting Q & A
Saturday ~ March 19th ~ 3:00pm-4:30pm

This lecture style class is for those who began quilting with little or no instruction. You know there must be a better way to do some of the things involved in quiltmaking - you just don’t know what they might be! We will cover a wide range of tips for everything from selecting fabrics and patterns, to accurately cutting and piecing the beautiful fabrics you pick, while still leaving time to answer your questions. Please bring paper and pencil to class.
Fee $12.00 (pre-registration required)
My St. Patrick’s Day decorations include a shamrock themed version of Table Graces. The placemats are fun and fast to make - you piece and quilt them at the same time! The pattern also includes bonus information to help you make napkins and tablecloths. I think we need these for every holiday!
Pattern $9.50
Please note ~ As the CDC and state pandemic rules are modified, we too change our requirements.
