Greetings!

My sweetie is helping our oldest do some painting in the kitchen of his new house. While taping off the woodwork and corners, of which he says there’s a million, he noticed a hole in the wall that must have been for the dryer in the past. He stuck his flashlight in to take a look and wondered why anyone would drop a rubber snake into the wall… A while later my son was pulling molding along the floor and commented how strange it was to find a snake skin behind the molding. You know where this story is going! After some serious effort, they got the not rubber snake out of the wall. Yuck! I’m not anywhere near as eager to see the new house at this point. I’m thinking they might need a cat…

Hope you have a lovely week with no unwelcome surprises!

This Saturday (3-5-22) those registered for the beginning of the month session for our pieced Saturday Sampler program will meet at 9:00am. The new block is great looking, with lots of opportunities for instruction. Be sure to bring your block from last month for show and tell, and so your second kit will be free (not to worry - if you miss the meeting, or did not have a chance to complete the block, the kit will be just $5.00 plus tax). You might want to make a list of the questions you had as you worked the first block - answers might make the next one easier!

This Saturday is also the second meeting for Quilters Grace, the Border Creek mystery. At 10:30am we will review the next steps in the unique project. A bit more cutting and sewing will keep us on the path to a stunning quilt!
QC Panel Party
Saturday ~ March 19th ~ lecture 11:00am

The artwork being created for quilters has certainly evolved over the last 10 years. The development of digital printing on fabric has meant incredible designs can now be worked in larger, panel size, pieces. From traditional to contemporary, the options are amazing! During our party lecture we will share tips for working with panels (how to cut them, how to select coordinating fabrics, how to select complementary patterns,...). We will show the pieces we are working on and give you a look at some of the newest panels to arrive in the shop. We will share a small gift during the lecture and then you will head upstairs to select a panel for your next project (yup, any panel you would like - maybe one like the Folkscapes panel shown here!).
Fee $15.00 (includes lecture and free panel!)
The regional coordinator for Ryan’s Case for Smiles reached out to us this week. She has already shared the mountain of pillowcases you created during our pillowcase race with Children’s Hospital and desperately needs more at the moment. I know I have some that I cut last fall and didn’t get finished. I’m going to get those done quickly - maybe you could look and see if you have some you could finish up and bring to the shop, too?
An unopened Moda box greeted me as I entered the shop today. I resisted taking a box cutter to the top for at least a half hour… I’m so glad I succumbed to the temptation! Inside was “Fresh As a Daisy”. The Create Joy Project prints are worked in the exquisit watercolor style of Laura’s previous groups. You will find a rainbow of brightly colored flowers and color washed blenders in the group. I have already snagged pieces for my collection - I hope we still have some left when you next visit!
Fabric $12.49 per yard, panel $6.75  See these online....
Please note ~ As the CDC and state pandemic rules are modified, we too change our requirements. If you are fully vaccinated you may now enter Quilters Corner without a mask (if you feel comfortable doing so). If you are not fully vaccinated please continue to wear a mask when you visit. So very sorry - we do not have a public restroom. Our shop hours are currently 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Saturday.
