Greetings!
I first saw redbud trees when Debbi and I drove to Quilt Market in Charlotte, years back. It was love at first sight! I finally bought a small one (very small) for our front garden two years ago. This year I found out it could take up to six years before it blooms! I had hope though - it was becoming quite a beautiful twig - gorgeous leaves and almost as big as me. I think in past letters I might have mentioned the deer in our neighborhood... My sweetie has seen a very young buck with tiny antlers on his walks in the neighborhood (our very lush, filled with trees neighborhood). Guess where the young buck decided to rub his new rack. The bark on my redbud now looks like shredded ribbon - a great look for ribbon, not so great for my tiny tree!

I hope the wildlife in your neighborhood is being better behaved!
See you soon,
Mary Beth
This Saturday, September 23rd, those in our Bright Hopes Saturday Sampler program will be able to pick up an installment 9 packet at any point during the day (shop hours 10:00am-4:00pm). The packet will include an installment letter, block pattern and fabrics, and a bonus block pattern. If you show your completed block from last month your packet will be free. You might consider snagging a bonus block fat quarter stack to use for the extra block this month, and those in coming months.

We held the first session of our new Stash Management series last week. Because seating is limited at the moment, the group is full, but we would be happy to add your name to the waiting list (we are even considering adding an additional session).
Our next Simple Whatnots Club meeting will be held next Thursday, September 30th. I’m having great fun working on “Birds of a Feather”, the charming 20 1/2” x 26 1/2” piece we will work on this month. During the session I will share tips for working with small pieces, and I will share alternate techniques that make construction a tad quicker. We would love to have you join us - pre-registration required.

No matter how you use these prints, the results are sure to be cheerful and bright!
