Greetings!

We made a quick visit to the Erie County fair again this year. Summer would not be complete without it! I wish you could see my ultra trendy (she has an invitation to an upcoming New York fashion week show), New York City resident daughter in this setting. She wants to be friends with every single fair farm animal, beginning this year with a huge black pig. She put out her hand (correctly - no fingers extended for animals to nibble) and the pig snuffled all over it - ugh! We then moved on to the cow barn. First thing we saw was a girl about her age, laying in the hay, against her cow taking selfies. At that point my youngest turned to me and said, “You could have raised me here”. I tried to explain that yes, I could have, but she might not like NYC as much if that had been the case…
We managed to leave without a chicken or rabbit - although she did text her friend a photo, asking if they could have another roommate - a week old calf!
Wishing you fun summer adventures, and great summer memories!

For those registered for the first Saturday of the month session, we will meet at 9:00am this Saturday (September 4th) to share the next block in your 2021 sampler, Bright Hopes. We will review the techniques used to create the block, share a bonus block pattern, and take a look at new goodies that have arrived in the past weeks. Should be fun - hope you can make it!
We will be closed on Monday, September 6th for Labor Day. This seems like a good spot to mention how sorry I am that we were also closed on Wednesday this week. After lots of effort, our storage area is getting back to normal (tons of work still to do…). Thank you to everyone who sent kind thoughts our way as the rain fell, and fell, and fell… We hope you made out ok!
Your pillowcases traveled to their next stop last Friday. Doris (area coordinator for Ryan’s Case for Smiles) was thrilled with your efforts!!! We have contacted the winners of the prizes for most and favorite pillowcases (look for their names on the sign in the back of the shop), and have pulled together a little thank you for everyone that worked so hard to construct 2986 pillowcases! Individuals, and a member from the participating teams, may stop at the shop counter at some point in the next two weeks to pick up our little gift. Again, thank you so very much for the mountain of pillowcases!
I’m like a kid on Christmas when the new Quilt Sampler magazine arrives! I started reading the new Fall/Winter 2021 issue on page one on Monday, and will have read every single word by tonight! I honestly love “visiting” all the shops featured in it’s pages. The pictures share the beautiful shelves, and impressive displays of each of the ten included shops. Add to that a unique project pattern from each, and the magazine becomes irresistible! Magazine $7.99
A few pieces from Patrick Lose’s cute Rollicking Robots group just arrived. The designs are perfect for the science nerds in your crowd. You will find funky robots, scattered gears and other techie images in bright blue, green, yellow, orange, red and purple - the crafty possibilities are endless.
Fabric $11.80 per yard
Please note ~ As the CDC and state pandemic rules are modified, we too change our requirements. If you are fully vaccinated you may now enter Quilters Corner without a mask (if you feel comfortable doing so). If you are not fully vaccinated please continue to wear a mask when you visit. So very sorry - we do not have a public restroom. Our shop hours are currently 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Saturday.
