Greetings!
Earlier in the year, I shared the reaction my youngest daughter’s friends had to her trip to Seven Springs. She had to respond no, she wasn’t skiing with the ladies of Quilters Corner, she has friends her own age… I can’t wait to hear the response when she shares her new story. Our friend Pat appeared in a special t-shirt several weeks back. The words “skydiving is on my bucket list” were crossed out to read “skydiving was on my bucket list”! Yes, Pat had been skydiving with her friend Kathleen. She loved every second of the adventure, and wondered why she hadn’t done it sooner… I, of course, was thinking maybe because common sense could come into play... My daughter, on the other hand, thought it would be a great idea. So, next year her friends will say “You went skydiving with your high school friends?” and she will be able to answer, “No, of course not, with the ladies of Quilters Corner!”
I’ll wish you a little bit of excitement this week. Maybe not the jumping out of a plane type - way to go Pat!
Happy stitching,
Mary Beth

You won’t be surprised to hear, there are lots of things happening in the shop this Saturday, July 3rd! You will find your packets for our pieced Saturday Sampler, Dear Jen, and My Favorite Color is Moda, as well as the second block in our Garden Walk Medallion block of the week ready for pick up! You even have the option to join us from 9:00am - 9:45am in our classroom for a version of our Saturday Sampler meeting (if you are registered for the program). While not exactly like we used to present them, it will still be packed with information and inspiration! Because we have returned to in person Saturday Sampler sessions, you will now be able to take your own session notes (thus, no more letter with your kit).

You have only a little time to finish the 2021 Southwestern PA Shop Hop - it ends at 5:00pm on the 3rd! I hope you have had fun on your journey, and I hope you have had a chance to thank Donna from Sew Special for organizing the event! We enjoyed welcoming everyone to the shop, and hope to see you again soon!

It seems like the days are flying by! Before I know it, Tape Measure Day will be here! On July 14th, Tape Measure Day, we will mark the day in 1868 Alvin Fellows was granted a patent for “improvements in tape measures”. One wonders how we would function if there hadn’t been improvements along the way! On the 14th you will want to check out our event ruler display (and watch a quick demo of proper ruler and rotary use), and enter to win a set of our favorites!

You won’t believe how many new fabric collections we received this week! Christmas collections, some amazing tone on tone pieces, and lots of others have come tumbling out of the boxes. One group is so very timely, it just needs to be shared today. Holiday Essentials Americana is the first of Moda’s holiday essentials groups. The red, white and blue group is packed with sweet patriotic charm. You will find pieces featuring tiny flags, others covered in stars, fireworks, dots and stripes. My plan was to make a runner from Tabletastic 2 with the charm squares before the bolts arrived, but that was wishful thinking… While they arrived just in time for the 4th, I know they will be perfect for projects all year long!
Fabric $11.99 per yard

Gardening Gnomes
Wednesday ~ July 28th ~ 1:00pm-4:00pm
Jill’s versions of the petite characters from the “Gardening Gnomes” pattern were a great hit during shop hop. So many guests asked about making them, we have added them as a class. Their simple shape makes them the perfect project for learning basic doll making techniques (from fabric selection and preparation, to cutting, stitching, stuffing, and embellishing). Pull fabrics from your collection for them, or cut into some elegant Edyta prints like those Jill used for her cuties!
Class fee: $20.00 - pattern and supplies required (you will receive a $10.00 gift certificate toward supply purchase when you register and pay for class) - register soon, as class size is limited

Please note ~ As the CDC and state pandemic rules are modified, we too change our requirements. If you are fully vaccinated you may now enter Quilters Corner without a mask (if you feel comfortable doing so). If you are not fully vaccinated please continue to wear a mask when you visit. So very sorry - we do not have a public restroom. Our shop hours are currently 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Saturday.
