Greetings!
I’ve known for a long time that my car has a twin… I once came out of the gas station on Brownsville road and noticed a car two spaces from mine, identical in every way other than one number higher on the license plate! On Monday I finished my walk on the trail (tired and very hot) and headed to the car. I clicked the lock, jumped in, and then thought, “I wonder why my sweetie changed the floor mats”. You guessed it - my car was over two spaces, once again! You can only imagine how quickly I jumped out of that car! “Interesting” start to the week...
I wish you only good surprises this week!
Happy stitching,
Mary Beth

Oh my, we’re going to be busy here on Saturday! First - great news - we will be holding an in person session for Bright Hopes (our 2021 pieced sampler design) this Saturday at 9:00am! The session will be held in our lower level classroom from 9:00am-9:45am. To say I am excited doesn’t begin to cover it! During the session I will quickly review the basics I would have been sharing up to this point. You may also pick up your Simple Whatnots pattern and kit originally shared on Thursday. Now that we are returning to in person sessions, there will no longer be a letter in your kit (yes, that means you will now have to take notes…). You may still pick up your kit for free when you show your completed block at any point this Saturday. We will not completely return to the “old” system until later in the summer.
Also, this Saturday marks the beginning of our summer block of the week! The medallion style quilt, made up of nine applique blocks (both square and rectangular), and pieced and plain borders, is offered in nine kits. The kits contain applique fabrics, you add background, stem fabric, and setting fabrics. We would be happy to make kits for you! $5.00 per week for nine weeks

We opened the mountain of boxes this afternoon, only to find a new Kim Diehl collection (yup, about two hours after the club meeting!). Kim’s entire holiday group, Farmhouse Christmas, offered in deep reds and greens, is now unwrapped and ready for you. The group includes small florals, stripes, dots, and even pieces that look like patchwork. These will be perfect at any time of the year, but ideal for holiday quilts, runners, stockings,... They are going to be so much fun to sew with! $11.95 per yard

The other box we opened today contained the new Block magazine issue. Whether you are planning your next project (10 different options this time), learning a new technique (crochet this time!), or checking out one of the stories, you will be entertained for hours. I have to admit, I didn’t read the first installments of the current mystery - now I need to pull out the past issues and catch up! Next up will be deciding which project I'll tackle first from this issue and then gathering fabrics. If you don’t want to miss an issue, we could add your name to the list of guests we call when we open each new shipment… $7.99
Jenny thanked all of you in the article describing the history of Missouri Star (actually it’s an illustrated timeline). I want to do the same. The past year and a half has seen many changes at Quilters Corner. Some you have loved, others not so much (we feel the same way!). Some we pulled off very well, others… Know that we truly appreciate your support, your friendship and yes, even your criticism. I hope you find excitement, inspiration, and a little peace as you enter our colorful corner of the world!

We just finished making kits for a cute little butterfly piece. The kit contains the fabric for the top and binding (a little Tula print, a white on white, and solids), and the pattern for the 16” x 16” quilt. I love making little pieces - they are a great way to practice all the steps in making a quilt, and the finished pieces add a pop of color to any setting. Kit $16.95

Please note ~ As the CDC and state pandemic rules are modified, we too change our requirements. If you are fully vaccinated you may now enter Quilters Corner without a mask (if you feel comfortable doing so). If you are not fully vaccinated please continue to wear a mask when you visit. So very sorry - we do not have a public restroom. Our shop hours are currently 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Saturday.
