Greetings!

My youngest called this week to tell me there was a serious omission in her cooking education. All I could think was, how could that be? She insisted I pick her up and put her on a chair to help cook before she was old enough to drag the chair over and climb up… She was measuring the ingredients when she was two, and doing baking experiments by the time she was in elementary school! So, she needed to bake cookies for an event. Being the nice mom I am, I responded with, “Ok, twenty minutes to mix the dough and forty to bake the entire batch…”. While that is her method at home, things were a bit different this time. She borrowed a cookie sheet from one friend, and an oven from another. The real error was the frozen cookie dough (which she was right about us never using!). Well, maybe it actually was not reading all the directions. It took four hours and tears to get a batch of cookies. I think I should get credit for not pointing out there is a wonderful Italian bakery two blocks from the oven she was using…

I hope your new experiences this week are all pleasant!

Happy stitching,
Mary Beth
