Greetings!
Early last fall I looked for my white, cotton cable knit sweater... No luck, I figured I had donated it, and set out to find a replacement. I checked in every store I went into (ok, that wasn’t that many, but at least four). Two days ago I was so cold I decided to pull a sweater from my stack of really warm ones. The “rather” full bottom cubby in my closet holds the comfy old wool favorites. As I pulled one out the entire stack (ok, precariously piled mess) fell out on the floor. When I bent down to put them away I noticed something wedged in the back - yup, the favorite white sweater. I honestly don’t know how long it was back there. I wonder what I would find if I pulled out the fabric stacks in my sewing room - I bet there are some treasures wedged in back. I think I will save that treasure hunt for a rainy day!
Wishing you happy little surprises this week.
See you soon,
Mary Beth

This Saturday, April 24th, those registered will be able to pick up their pieced Saturday Sampler packet and Christmas Club packet. Another fun block pattern and fabric are in the Saturday Sampler packet, while the Christmas Club one includes a club letter and a little fabric gift. While different from how we worked in the past, the system still makes for plenty of quilty fun! I also wanted to mention that Simple Whatnots Club members are invited to stop in this coming Thursday, April 29th, to take a look at the club projects and share the pieces they are working on. Whatnots club packets will be available on, or after Thursday.

Lots of new fabrics arrived this week - I just couldn’t resist quickly sharing Northcott’s Silhouette collection with you. The group features an elegant selection of linework drawings in aqua, gray, plum, and black and white. You will find a stunning black tree, scattered leaves (both large and small), as well as a print that mimics the veins in a leaf and a stripe that includes all the colors in the group. There are several Villa Rosa patterns that would be perfect for the group, but now that I think about it, they would be spectacular in table runners, garments, bags, bed quilts - the possibilities are really endless!
$11.80 per yard

Northwest of Baltimore ~ Diamonds
Jill’s version of our Northwest of Baltimore Diamonds, quilted by Janet, is fabulous! The patterns pay homage to traditional 1800’s applique, but with a modern twist. Kits for the diamond shaped applique blocks (approximately 12” x 20 3/4” each when framed with setting triangles) can now be purchased in two sets - blocks 1-6 and 7-12. When four bonus blocks are added to the mix, along with sashing and borders, the quilt finishes 89” x 108”. The Northwest Diamond kits include fabric for the applique pieces, you will supply background, and setting fabrics. The fabrics in the kits will be the same, or similar to those used in the pictured quilt.
As a thank you, we will include 1 yard of stem fabric with your purchase of kits 1-6 and patterns for the four bonus blocks (you select your own fabrics for the bonus blocks) with your purchase of kits 7-12!
Kit packet for blocks 1-6 ~ $77.75 (includes 1 yard of stem fabric)
Kit packet for blocks 7-12 ~ $77.75 (includes four additional block patterns)
