Greetings!
I hate when I hear a strange noise in my car. The mechanic always asks what the noise sounds like (and who is good at describing a sound?), and then says they can’t fix something that isn’t happening when they listen (and I swear the car never makes the noise when I get to the dealer…). Last week I heard a quiet thump, thump, thump. It seemed to be most obvious when I started and stopped. Best I didn’t head directly to the dealer this time... I glanced to the right and realized there was a Reese’s Easter egg rolling back and forth under the front passenger seat! I have no idea why the Easter Bunny left an egg in my car (ok, maybe it fell out of a bag…), but there’s nothing like a little chocolate and peanut better when you least expect it!
Wishing you a week of happy surprises!
Mary Beth

This Saturday, April 17th, you will find packets for your applique Saturday Sampler and Bliss projects ready for pick up. On Wednesday of the coming week (April 21st) we will welcome members of our Christmas Club to pick up their next club packets and enjoy a small display of the current “in progress” club projects. In both cases, be sure to bring your current projects to show - we love seeing what you are stitching!

I can’t tell you how excited we were to slice open the boxes containing our order of baskets made by women in Ghana! During the past year the baskets have sat in Africa, unable to make the journey due to issues presented by the pandemic. Each unique basket is a handmade work of art that provides the maker with a fair wage, allowing them to provide for their family. You will find small and large round baskets, several oval versions and even square ones this time. They work great for fabric storage (my solids are stored beautifully in two pie baskets) and for trips to the farmers market. Consider giving them as gifts - the ladies in Ghana would love for us to have room for another shipment soon!

Shop Hop Passport Premiere - Saturday, April 24th!
Donna, from Sew Special, has taken on the challenge of coordinating this year’s June 25th to July 3rd shop hop. April 24th will be your first chance to purchase a passport for “Gnome on the Roam”. We will share a gift of a fat quarter when you purchase a passport the first day they are available, and you can enter to win a goodie basket (well actually, it’s a cute tote stuffed with goodies!) that day, as well. During the hop you will receive a fat quarter and a shop coupon at each stop, and have chances to win prizes. Each shop will also share a quilt made with a cute gnome panel, a scavenger hunt and a find the gnome game (kind of like “elf on a shelf”) - lots to see, and lots of fun - why not join in!

New fabrics ~
Blooming Paisley, a contemporary take on paisley prints, has just arrived from Studio E. The pieces in the group are offered in a bright, bold palette - the deep midnight blue background really shows off the green, teal, raspberry, purple and red designs. The group also includes a watery, almost tie dye look piece. I can see these used as the inspiration for a stunning quilt, either traditional (how about fussy cutting the motifs for intricate kaleidoscope effects) or modern!
$12.10 per yard

You won’t believe it - the white on white fabrics keep rolling in! This week nine bolts of 108” wide Studio E. backing fabric were in the boxes. You will find both contemporary designs (dots and swirling lines), as well as more traditional flowers and paisley pieces at just $15.60 per yard.

We received just a few bolts of Robert Kaufman’s Build, Bang, Boom. Even still, it’s safe to say the three bolts will be the start of a really cute quilt. The collection’s construction vehicles and workers in red, blue and gold on white will look great combined with solids for a whimsical, trendy childs quilt! $12.10 per yard
